My name is Patrick, Director and Specialist Broker here at Oaksmere Commercial Finance. 

Having spent 18 years in construction and property development, I always found the hardest part wasn’t planning or pouring concrete slabs… it was arranging the finance, even using a broker I found myself asking, “Why does this have to be so hard!” It was like the lenders did everything they could not to lend, especially if your a first time developer or landlord. (Even though everyone has to start somewhere right). 

Looking back on those experiences I found that even with a broker, they often didn’t actually understand construction or they type of development I was doing, so struggled to know what I really needed. Even then once a application was made, I was forever chasing and ended up pretty much being the middle man myself. 

I thought, it shouldn’t be this way, the process could be so much better and I wanted to help others in my shoes feeling that everything was against them. So I set up Oaksmere and become a registered broker. It was only then I saw that I’d been placed on the totally wrong products, that ended up costing me thousands more than it needed to, or not being asked for key documents up front that stalled deals (costing more time & money) and not being given key updates when they came in.

So that’s what we offer here, brokering from a customers perspective, with my experience in the development world I will be able to understand what your doing and see your dream for that development. We are here to actually broker for you, getting all we could possibly need upfront to take the fight to the lenders, giving you the updates when they come in (not a week later) and finding you the best products that actually suits you, not just the ones that pay the best commission.
